About this class

Five afternoons. The first day is for stories: what happened, who was in it, and how it ended. The second day is characters and backgrounds. The middle days are animation — frame by frame, on paper and on screen. The last day is sound, and a screening for the parents who have been waiting all week.

No previous drawing experience is needed. Children who cannot draw well often turn out to be very good at this, because animation is about movement and timing, not about being good at drawing.

What to bring: a notebook for ideas, and the confidence to say a strange idea out loud.
