Drawing Basics for Little Hands
A first studio class for children aged 7–10
Learn to look before drawing. Six weeks of observation games, shape-hunting and colour, ending with a poster the child is happy to hang up.
About this class
Six weeks in the studio, one hour at a time, for children who have never been taught to draw and for those who draw without being taught.
The first hour is spent looking. We play observation games — what is in this corner of the room, what is the shape of that shadow — because drawing well starts with seeing well. From there it is shapes into animals, line and movement, colour mixing, and finally a poster of their own.
Each class ends with something to take home, even if it is only a page of scribbles that feels like a discovery.
What to bring: a sketchbook if you have one, a pencil, and an apron. We have the rest.
